MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING
CITY COMMISSION-CITY HALL
February 20, 2001
7:00 p.m.
Mayor Ray opened the special meeting.
City Mgr. Lay told the Commission that Barge,
Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon were not interested in the proposal. They felt they
had fulfilled their contract with the City and the minimum they would except is
$17,500.00.
City Mgr. Lay stated he had talked with Atty. Gray
and he stated that if we took this to court it would cost a minimum of $10,000.
Mike Duncan told the Commission the discussion he
had with Quinn Construction. He also stated he had put a lien on the project
until he was paid for services rendered.
Some discussion was had about doing core samples on
the concrete. Comm. White suggested getting test done and then if it comes back
o.k. pay the $8500.00 in question and be through with this project.
The Commission gave City Mgr. Lay the authority to
contact World Testing Laboratories in Mt. Juliet about doing the test not to
exceed $5,000.
There being no further business the motion was made
by Comm. Jones to adjourn and seconded by Comm. Vencion. Said meeting adjourned
at 810 p.m.
