MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING

CITY COMMISSION-CITY HALL

May 7, 2001 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Ray opened the Special meeting concerning requiring sites for testing wells.

City Mgr. Lay stated he had let Atty. Gray look over the agreement and he stated they needed to be more in depth and also we could not guarantee George and Edna Jones would not be annexed.  This Commission cannot bind a future Commission that way.  He stated he could put these agreements together.

City Mgr. Lay stated he had talked with John and Sherry McDonald and their property would be $30,000 but this would be negotiable.

City Mgr. Lay stated that on the McDonald property there was 3 underground rivers on it that had an ample supply of water.

Comm. Jones stated Mr. Robert Kea and Mr. Alton Ray said the City could cross their property but Mr. Buchanan really didn’t want us to cross his property because of where the line would have to go.  Too much rock on Buchanan property anyway.

City Mgr. Lay suggested getting Atty. Gray draw up the agreement with as many details then go ahead and secure options.  The Commission agreed by consensus.

Comm. Jones made the motion to adjourn and seconded by Comm. White, voted unanimous.
