MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING

CITY COMMISSION-CITY HALL

June 15, 2001 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Ray opened the meeting; City Mgr. Lay gave the invocation.

Comm. Jones made the motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as received, seconded by Comm. White, voted unanimous.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

Gilbert told the Commission they were mowing the City streets and also doing routing work.

City Mgr. Lay stated there was another gas meeting in Washington, DC on June 26 and 27 and he needed to know what Commissioners would be going.  He stated they would have to leave on Monday so the next City meeting would have to be reset.  It was decided to have the next meeting on June 28, 2001 at 7:00 p.m.

WATER PLANT UPDATE

City Mgr. Lay stated he had received two proposals for Engineers to study the Water Plant design.  They are Lamar Dunn from Knoxville not to exceed $12,000 and Askew, Hargroves, Harcourt not to exceed $5,000.  Some discussion was had.

Comm. Jones made the motion to amend the previous motion of not to exceed $5,000 to not to exceed $7,000, seconded by Comm. White, voted unanimous.

BUDGET REVISIONS

City Mgr. Lay updated the Commission on the 2000-2001 budget and also gave them a proposal of the 2001-2002 budget to study.

City Mgr. Lay told the Commission the City had been approved for another Home Grant.

There being no further business to come before the Commission the motion was made by Comm. White to adjourn and seconded by Comm. Jones.
