MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
CITY COMMISSION-CITY HALL
Mayor Ray opened the meeting,
Vice-Mayor Creasy gave the invocation.
Comm. White made the motion to
approve the minutes of the regular meeting as received, seconded by Comm.
Vencion, voted unanimous.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
Gilbert told the Commission he
had 2 request for water connections. One on Natural Bridge Road and one on
Michael Drive. This was o.k. with the Commission.
Gilbert told the Commission we
no longer had prisoner help. Mayor Ray and Comm. Vencion to meet with Warden
Davis Thursday.
6A) BRIDGE NAME REQUEST
James H. Haggard and Herbert
Brewer, County Commissioners, met with the Commission concerning naming the
bridge on Hwy. 64 East, in honor of James Neilus Hurst. Some discussion was
held.
The motion was made by Comm.
Vencion to table this, seconded by Vice-Mayor Creasy, voted unanimous.
Herbert brought to the
Commissioners attention the narrow street to the assisted living project. He
stated he would like for City Mgr. Lay to come up when he gets back to get
together with him and look into this.
6B) WATER PLANT UPDATE
Dean told the Commission he and
Parker Holt had looked over the project. He stated some of the work has been
done but some more work needs doing.
Dean stated the materials have
been sent to the firm in Knoxville to look over the Water Plant design.
Dean told the Commission they
had ordered pipe from the people in Florence to replace pipe on effluent, from
tank to plant to increase flow.
Comm. Vencion ask how long it
would take to get the results back on the design. Dean stated possibly 2 weeks.
OPEN ITEMS:
Comm. Jones ask had anything
been done about the horse and dog on Stockard Street. Darlene stated she had
sent Officer Jeff Mathis the other afternoon and he talked with the owner David
Ruddle.
Comm. Vencion told the
Commission the Motel, Halfway House and Graphics Plus have been talking with Jim
Biggers about relocating to property on By-Pass. They had ask about putting
sewer to this property. Some discussion was had about feasibility.
Dean stated there would be a
meeting tomorrow night in Lawrenceburg on water study.
Comm. Vencion ask about the
situation with wells. Dean stated they were waiting on grant.
There being no further business
the motion was made by Comm. Jones to adjourn and seconded by Comm. White. Said
meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
