Victors Kill

Wayne County is an undiscovered paradise for sportsmen. People from all over the country come here to hunt, camp and fish. However, hunting and fishing areas are not crowded. We have plenty of room for you to find the right place.

More than 10,000 acres of privately owned and managed land plus a local wildlife management area of over 22,000 acres make for excellent hunting, camping and fishing.

The local White-tailed deer and eastern wild turkey herds have gone through a growth period lately and hunting is abundant.

Some of the hunting terrain will challenge your skill and endurance. Serious deer hunters find that the challenge is rewarded with at least a chance at that really nice buck.

Bobwhite quail, squirrels, rabbits, doves, and eastern wild turkey are locally abundant and provide small game hunters with hours of enjoyable hunting.  Come join us in a great outdoor experience.

Natchez Trace Parkway

www.nps.gov/natr

As early as 1733, French traders were using maps based on a series of hunter's paths that stretched from Mississippi into Tennessee. By 1810, the trail evolved into a clearly marked road of commerce, bet there was always an element of danger: the Trace was host to robbers preying on unsuspecting travelers.

In 1812 steamboats began providing a safer and faster method of transportation from the Ohio Valley to New Orleans, and travel on the Trace eventually began to decline.

The Parkway, constructed by the National Park Service, offers those who travel the famous route, an absolutely beautiful drive and numerous historical points of interest.

Buffalo River Beauty

A view of the local Buffalo River as it winds through Wayne County.

Wayne County Buffalo River

One of Tennessee's most scenic rivers, the Buffalo, meanders through the northern part of Wayne County. The river is famous as a float stream for many canoes.

From moderately fast rapids to lazy, slow moving waters, a journey down the Buffalo is to experience nature at its best.

For those who fish, the river is home to an abundance of small-mouth bass, rock bass, and catfish.

The Beautiful and Historic Natural Bridge... This historic site is the only known double span natural bridge formation in the world. It is a purely natural formation that was formed over millions of years by nature.

"Located on the Spa Property; a Wonderful Combination of Both History and Nature; Only Known Double-Span Natural Bridge Formation in the World." -TFSpa.com

Tennessee Fitness Spa is located 95 miles southwest of Nashville, Tennessee at Beautiful Natural Bridge. This historic site is the only double span natural bridge formation in the world. It is a purely natural formation that was formed over millions of years by nature. Indians used the site over several different periods of history. Tribes including the Yucchi Indians from Mexico, the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Muskogean, Creeks and Cherokees walked the trails around natural Bridge long before the white man came to this country. The last Indians here were the Cherokees but they were ordered out by Andrew Jackson in the 1800's. They embarked on the "Trail of Tears". The site is bordered by Forty-Eight Creek which is crystal clear cool water. Many species of fish can be seen from the banks. Another popular creation of nature on the grounds is the "Ice" cave. The temperature in the cave is a cool 58 degrees year round. The stream coming out of the cave is stocked with rainbow trout. Entertainment is provided on special occasions by local musicians and drama groups.
