Handgun Permit Course

Periodically the Waynesboro Police Department offers the Handgun Permit Course required for a handgun carry permit in the State of Tennessee.   For more information on the next class offering, call (931) 722-5458.

The Waynesboro Police Department is certified to instruct the safety course required by the State of Tennessee in order to obtain a handgun carry permit.   All proceeds go to benefit our annual "Cops for Kids" Christmas Program and to further develop our firing range.   This course consists of a (4) hour classroom session and a firing range qualification and safety session for a total of (8) hours. There is a written and practical exam also involved.
